Lawyer to assist Thanda?


Club manager Thabani Gumede refuses to disclose what those contractual issues are, but has it on good authority that its surrounds allegations made by Mahlangu in the latest KickOff magazine (January 14) that his contract was altered by Benoni Premier United officials (the franchise that sold its rights to Thanda Royal Zulu FC).

The Mpumalanga-born player alleges that according to a contract signed with The Rabbits when the team won promotion to the top flight in 2004, he was contracted up until 2007, and was surprised later on to find that the ‘7’ had been changed to a ‘9’ – leaving him tied to the club until 2009.

_quoteHowever, Gumede is adamant that the issue will be resolved soon, and that the player will definitely be in Amabhubesi colours in the New Year.

"There are some problems that we are trying to iron out with regard with Mahlangu's contract with the team and we have since approached Mr Murphy to help us resolve this case. The player is still training with us and I am confident will be playing for the team in the New Year," Gumede says.

Murphy successfully won Jose Torrealba’s clearance from Mamelodi Sundowns recently after the Venezuelan striker claimed the club had forged his signature on a two-year extension. Torrealba has subsequently agreed to join Kaizer Chiefs from June 2008.
