The former Orlando Pirates dribbling wizard and his business manager Jazzman Mahlakgane met with Platinum Stars management yesterday and a report back of the talks indicate that ‘Chippa’ could link up officially with the Tycoons on Monday.

Both Stars’ CEO Larry Brookstone and Mahlakgane described their meeting as ‘exciting’.

Both Mahlakgane and Stars CEO, Larry Brookstone confirmed they had exciting talks with regard of Lekoelea signing for the North West based outfit on Monday.

“We had fruitful meeting with Steve’s agent yesterday [Thursday] and presented him with an offer. We are now waiting for him to come back to us to finalise everything before we unveil Steve as our player, which will probably be on Monday next week.”

Mahlakgane also sounded happy about the terms offered by the North West Province outfit and Lekoelea’s future with Stars and added that the deal would be finalised after the weekend.

After initially training with Stars, Lekoelea was sent to Potchefstroom University where he underwent medical tests. He then returned to Stars and impressed the Tycoons’ technical team who subsequently described him as a ‘far better and more explosive player’.

While he obviously lacks game time, Lekoelea is likely to be fit enough to turn out for Stars against AmaZulu at Olympia Park next Wednesday or be in the line up against Ea lla Koto at Goble Park the following weekend.
