Lidoda Duvha may have failed to win in the league since December 2007, but victories over Inspection FC and Matatiele Professionals in the first two rounds of the cup will have boosted the confidence of the team.
The club has confirmed the departure of coach Austin Eguavoen, after just two matches in charge, but Shephard Murape will step into the breach and attempt to save them from relegation.
Leopards are currently bottom of the log, four points adrift of Jomo Cosmos in 15th, and they will target this match as a chance to close the gap on Ezenkosi and place them under pressure ahead of their away trip to Pirates on Saturday.
However, it could be Mission Impossible for Lidoda Duvha who will not find it easy against Santos, who, apart from having the home advantage, are still in with a good chance of winning the PSL title and, like Leopards, have progressed into the quarterfinals of the cup.
In fact, the Cape side is the form team in the PSL at the moment, having won six of their last seven league games and dumping both Orlando Pirates and Moroka Swallows out of the cup.
The teams last met in November 2007, when Leopards defeated the 10-man Peoples’ Team 2-0 at Giyani, thanks to goals from Myron Shongwe and Fisher Kondowe. Sebastian Bax was sent off for the Cape Side.
