PSG were aiming to continue maintaining their table-topping position after surviving a scare at Nimes. There was no messing around from them, as Julian Draxler drew a save from Stephane Ruffier early on.

A brilliant long ball from Marco Verratti was expertly brought down by Draxler to head PSG in front after 22 minutes.

Although towards the halftime break, the visitors managed to power their way for a breakthrough but the powerful strike from Wahbi Khazri forced Thiago Silva and Areola to hold tight.

PSG returned with one change for the second half, as Moussa Diaby replaced veteran Lassana Diarra, with Etienne remaining unchanged.

The champions were awarded a penalty after Edison Cavani was brought down inside the box. The Uruguayan stepped up and made no mistake with an easy finish.

Having just come on, Diaby had the chance to put his name in the headlights after a through ball but shot way over the top.

The situation worsened for the visitors, with the PSG train taking full flight. Angel Di Maria made it three with a scorching strike from a tight corner in the 76th minute.

With Etienne still trying to recover and restructure themselves, further misery took place in front of a boisterous home crowd.

Following their third and final change in Silva going off for Thilo Kehrer, with the 19-year-old Diaby rounding off the victory with a nice finish.
