Mafikeng to host Soweto derby

There had been speculation that the biggest fixture in the South African soccer calendar would be played at the Absa Stadium in Durban where the two dished out a four-goal thriller that ended 2-2 in the first round.

The last time the two teams met at Mmabatho Stadium was in the semi final of the annual Telkom Charity Cup last August. The match ended 1-1 and was ultimately decided on penalties where Bucs won 3-1.

The Buccaneers led 1-0 at interval via a Lebohang Mokoena strike. Mokoena fired a shot that was deflected into an empty net by debutant Mokete Tsotetsi.

Tinashe Nengomasha forced the game to penalties with a great strike from outside the box.

Meanwhile, there are a two other fixture changes involving the club in the next few weeks. The changes, forced by the involvement of our opponents in CAF inter-club competitions are as follows;
