Mark Williams to scout young talent

Williams – currently in Durban as South Africa coach at the 2008 Beach Soccer World Cup - will work with the experienced AmaZulu coach Clive Barker.

It will be the first time that Williams, also famous for his brace in the 1996 Nations Cup final, will be working as a scout in the competition that has previously attracted Doctor Khumalo, Phil Masinga and Steve Komphela.

Themba Tshabalala, the Stars’ project manager, tells that 16 young players from the 99 at the workshop will be selected for an overseas trip.

“We could either be going to South America or Europe where there is youth tournaments that could give us the kind of exposure we want.”
