Mbuyane cleared to Pirates

Mbuyane, who was also on Kaizer Chiefs’ wanted list, has apparently signed a three-year contract with the Mighty Buccaneers.

According to a source close to Ea lla Koto, Mbuyane was cleared to Pirates today after Bucs chairman Irvin Khoza concluded the deal having agreed on financial terms with Ea Lla Koto boss Mike Mokoena.

“Mbuyane is definitely a Pirates’ player but I understand Khoza is waiting to finalise deals with other new players before parading them for the new season,” the source added.

Speculation has also turned to Golden Arrows midfielder Papi Zothwane who was in Johannesburg last week.

Although Arrows’ managing director Mato Madlala has denied Zothwane is moving to Pirates, a source close to the player said that Zothwane had returned to Durban this week to discuss his future with Abafana Bes’thende management.
