Speaking to KickOff.com after their memorable 3-1 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns at Johannesburg Stadium last night, Da Gama showered praise on his players for great character and sticking to the game plan throughout the match.
The last time Bucs beat the Brazilians was during the 2004/05 season.
“It is all about showing confidence in the players. Once you achieve that, they will deliver the goods,” he says.

“I know that Sundowns are strong in midfield and so I made sure we had a good strategy to win the battle in the midfield.
“We must not start counting our chances of winning the League but instead take each game as it comes. Our focus is already on our next game against Santos in Cape Town. They are coming off two wins and playing in those difficult conditions in Cape Town will need us to be well prepared.
“However, by beating teams like Wits and Sundowns, it gives you confidence that you are going in the right direction.
“I will continue to giving the youngsters a chance and I am happy that the likes of Mushangazhike and Tonic Chabalala are helping a lot in terms of experience,” the coach adds.
