Milan watching Drogba tonight

Reports that the Rossoneri are interested in signing Drogba have been circling the English and Italian media for several months now.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the Italian giants Milan are strongly considering making a bid for the 29-year-old forward and are checking up on his form in Ghana.

Drogba’s homeland, the Ivory Coast, have already booked their place in the quarter-finals of the competition following a 1-0 win over Nigeria and a 4-1 success against Benin.

Drogba opened the scoring in the latter game, and his side is due to face Momo Sissoko’s Mali in their final group game tonight.

Milan are expected to sign a powerful forward in the summer, in order to partner him with teenage star Alexandre Pato.

Alberto Gilardino may be allowed to leave the club after another hugely disappointing campaign, while Filippo Inzaghi is set to turn 35, and Ronaldo’s contract renewal is still in doubt, especially after he picked up yet another injury.

Drogba is set to turn 30 in March, but Milan have had a well-known policy in recent years of opting to buy players with experience.

It is said that the Ivorian would relish a move to Italy’s fashion capital, however a lot will depend of the price tag that Chelsea quote for the player.
