Mofokeng, who emerged from a self imposed sabbatical in May to feature for strife torn FC AK, has recently been trying his luck with Thanda Royal Zulu without luck.
Mofokeng showed his usual signs of talent with the new PSL outfit, but his apparent lack of fitness could not convince the new club’s technical department to sign him.
“I am now back at home just going about life like everyone else. But I am still thinking about football and can still imagine myself playing in the professional ranks again.
“I am at home, without a club, but I believe I can find an opening by the time the January transfer window comes around,” he tells Kick Off.
A lanky, promising defender when he first emerged on the scene as a teenager, Mofokeng put on weight due to inactivity, having last played at Bush Bucks two seasons ago.
Mofokeng’s frustration is aggravated by the fact that his former teammate, Steven Pienaar, is turning on the magic in the English Premiership and looks certain to be on the world centre stage in 2010.
Mofokeng and Pienaar played together at Ajax Amsterdam in Holland in their youth days.
It is no secret that Mofokeng, who had stints at Ajax Cape Town, Moroka Swallows and Mamelodi Sundowns, is talented but it appears that lack of commitment to the game and off-the-field antics have cost him.
