More 'firsts' for Soweto Derby

accreditation

The game will be broadcast on Eurosport 2 and will be televised live to as many as 30 million homes in Eastern and Western Europe and in nine different languages.

This will be the first time that a PSL game will be broadcast internationally.

It will give South Africa an opportune window to show the world the level and excitement of our soccer. To take advantage of being broadcast internationally, the PSL has decided it will launch a couple of new firsts at this game.

Firstly, it will be the first time that teams utilise the Media Manual, a step by step list that helps teams and the broadcaster make sure that all games are uniform in their quality that are televised on TV.

The media manual is introduced for this game but will only be obligated for the clubs after the Africa Cup of Nations.

Some of the main items in the manual include among others, pre-match interviews with both coaches and captains of each team as well as post match interviews with both coaches and a minimum three players from each team.

Kjetil Siem, Chief Executive Officer of the PSL says the new procedures are a quantum leap for the Premier Soccer League, the sponsor Absa an the broadcaster SuperSport, both locally and internationally in taking the product of professional soccer in South Africa to a new level of excellence.
