Bapela's services have been acquired as part of the club's aspirations to win promotion to the PSL having recently also signed former Uthongathi FC head coach Johnny Ferreira.
However, the Limpopo-based side now has a chance to get into the Premiership as early as next season after qualifying for the NFD promotion playoffs.
TTM are set to be under new owners next season and will be called Sekhukhune United after the club was sold to African All Stars a few months ago.
Bapela is currently the chief operating officer and technical director of All Stars and will keep the same role for TTM (Sekhukhune) next season.
"These guys are excited. Sekhukhune has never had a professional team and let alone a NFD team, and now there is a chance of having their own PSL team," Bapela tells KickOff.com.
"We are doing everything possible to help the club acquire that dream of playing in the PSL next season."
TTM are scheduled to play against title-chasing Swallows FC in their last game of the GladAfrica Championship season at Makhulong Stadium on Sunday (13h30).
The PSL promotion/relegation playoffs will involve either Swallows FC or Ajax Cape Town and TTM as well as the 15th-placed finisher in the Absa Premiership.
