Former Tshakuma Tsha Madzhivhandila FC and Bafana Bafana full-back Cheslyn Jampies is currently in talks with one of the clubs in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

The Cape Town-born Jampies is currently in Gauteng negotiating a contract with La Masia owners.

The 33-year-old is currently a free agent and last kicked a football in a competitive match last year at TTM.

He decided to dump TTM after the club failed to honour their salary arrangement.

"Ja, I'm in Joburg, I'm currently training on my own, but at the same time I'm talking to La Masia," Jampies tells KickOff.com.

"Ja we still talking and talking and talking, I've worked with that coach before [Ashwin Sutton], we know each other very well.

"We've worked together before and he's always been fond of me, So together with the chairman we've been talking.

"So hopefully we can organise something pretty soon before I can start training.

"Because now it's critical you know players get injured while trialling and clubs end up not signing them all.

"So ja we have to have some sort of agreement before something happens you know."

La Masia are currently second from the bottom of the table, and to survive they will need to add some experience to their squad.
