Cape Town Spurs 1-0 Hungry Lions FC
Cape Town Spurs picked up their third straight win in all competitions with a 1-0 victory over Hungry Lions FC on Friday.
There were no goals at the course of the first half, but the hosts were out firing following the resumption and saw Ashley Cupido bag the winner to leave the Lions empty handed.
Shaun Bartlett's charges climbed to sixth spot with the win while Lions dropped to fourth position.
JDR Stars 1-0 Pretoria Callies
JDR Stars resumed their Championship campaign positively and edged Pretoria Callies 1-0 at the Giant Stadium in Soshanguve.
A finish just before the end of the first half from Zimbabwean international Ishmael Wadi was what separated the two sides on the day.
The defeat left Callies at the foot of the table, while JDR Stars sit in fifth position.
Saturday
University of Pretoria 1-3 Baroka FC
University of Pretoria made a disappointing return to their campaign following a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Baroka FC at the Tuks Stadium on Saturday.
Ayanda Mvambi put the host ahead before the break, but Bakgaga Ba Ga Mphahlele rallied back and drew the level off an own-goal by Siphamandla Ncanana.
Bakgaga kept probing around the closing period and found a second through Ntiyiso Bombi which needed AmaTuks to come from behind to salvage something.
However, the Limpopo-based outfit made the points safe as Bombi charged in again and completed his brace from an assist by Santino Smith and broke the hearts of AmaTuks.
Casric Stars 2-1 Platinum City Rovers
Casric Stars made a bright start to the year in the second tier after seeing off Platinum City Rovers 2-1 to go second on the Championship standings.
Goals in either half from former on-loan Swallows winger Thabo Mosadi separated the two sides amidst the response by Rovers, who now remain in the bottom-half of the table.
All Stars FC 2-0 Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC
All Stars bagged a second consecutive win in the Championship with a sound 2-0 victory over Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC.
The goals came in both halves and leave All Stars as high as third on the standings, while TTM are in the bottom-half and winless too from their previous three matches in all competitions.
Black Leopards 1-1 Venda Football Academy
Black Leopards' winless run in all competitions stretched to seven matches following a 1-1 draw against Venda Football Academy in a Limpopo derby.
With the match extremely tight for much of the first and second half, Leopards were ahead late on through Kenneth Nthatheni.
Venda, though, came back a few minutes before fulltime and snatched a point from the brink of defeat courtesy of veteran forward Rhulani Manzini.

Magesi FC 2-0 NB La Masia
NB La Masia’s reign in the Motsepe Foundation Championship continued to prove difficult following a 2-0 loss to Magesi FC on Sunday afternoon.
A brace with goals in either half by veteran striker Vuyisile Wana took the host over the line and amongst the top-half with La Masia down in the bottom-half.
Uthongathi FC 1-1 Polokwane City
Polokwane City failed to open up a wider gap at the top of the Championship table after being held to a 1-1 draw against Uthongathi FC.
Rise and Shine, though, were well on course for victory following Simon Ramabu’s opener, but the Cane Cutters managed to steal a point through Thato Mohlamme.
