Mtawali has finally taking charge of the junior Flames who are preparing for the forthcoming African Youth Championship preliminary round first leg match against Burundi in Blantyre on April 19.
“This country has an amazing crop of young and talented players; they just need to be nurtured and given exposure. I can assure you, we will have headache in choosing the final squad for the game against Burundi,” says the dread locked former player.
Mtawali, who had stints with Orlando Pirates, Supersport United, Hellenic, Ajax Cape Town and PJ Stars, was speaking to KickOff.com after the Under-20 team beat Mulanje Medicals 5-1 and Esparanza FC 5-2 in strength testing matches played in Mulanje on Sunday.
Mtawali was in full charge of the junior Flames in the absence of head coach Young Chimodzi who was away on personal business. Chimodzi is father to Engen Santos midfielder Tawonga Chimodzi.
