Mamelodi Sundowns and MTN South Africa jointly announced today that they have decided not to renew their three year old sponsorship agreement which lapses at the end of the 2007-2008 season.
The joint decision by MTN SA and Mamelodi Sundowns to end the relationship comes after the parties failed to reach an agreement during the re-negotiation phase of the contract.
In announcing the decision Tim Lowry, MTN SA Managing Director says: “After a successful and mutually beneficial three-year relationship with Mamelodi Sundowns, we have reached a joint and amicable decision to exit the partnership. We thank Mamelodi Sundowns for their contribution over the last three years and wish the team well in their future endeavors.”
Mamelodi Sundowns Media and Communications Manager Mahlatse Mphahlele says, “In MTN we have had a great partner over the past few years having enjoyed memorable moments including lifting the league trophy for two consecutive years. However, after our initial three year agreement and after we could not agree on the terms of another contract we have agreed to end the partnership.”
