Kaizer Chiefs news: Giovanni Solinas pleased with 10-day break

After three wins on the trot, Chiefs have a few days to reflect and prepare for their next Absa Premiership meeting against Highlands Park next Tuesday.

Amakhosi are currently in third position on the standings – just one point off leaders Orlando Pirates, having both played two more games than the rest of the chasing pack due to their CAF club commitments coming up at the end of November.

As such, Solinas has led his side through a flurry of fixtures that has seen them often take to the pitch every three days for league and cup action.

After being eliminated from the top-eight competition by SuperSport United, they will have to watch on as the reigning champions look to defend their crown against Cape Town City this weekend.

However, this pleases the Italian as he looks forward to the opportunity of ironing out the finer details in his team’s performances, after missing out on the bulk of their pre-season.

“When I have time to prepare for the games, I’m happy. Because, when you have time, you can prepare with the details,” said Solinas.

“When you don’t have time and you play every two to three days, you have to focus only on the priorities.

“Now we have time to work on the details, and to prepare for the next game so I am happy.”
