Mulenga’s deal to join Tikva was sealed on Monday and will see the player move from First Division Inland Stream Tuks, where he is currently on loan from Swedish outfit Orgryte IS at the end of this year’s African Cup of nations tournament in Ghana.
Mulenga is part of the Zambian national squad competing at the championship in Ghana.
According to Tikva President Amos Luzon, the club scout Kobi Refua has been following Mulenga’s progress with Orgryte before recommending the team to sign him on.
“As far as we checked and are concerned, Mulenga is a striker held in very high esteem, he's in a very high level,” Luzon said of the 21-year-old player.
Club Chairman Shino Zuaretz said his team sees Mulenga as a long-term investment and have plans to sell him to a bigger team in Europe.
Mulenga has been signed on as a replacement for Israel’s national team striker Omer Golan who recently joined Belgium Super Divsion side KSC Lokeren from Tikva.
Tikva are currently perched on fourth position on the Israel Super league log standings and are aiming to qualify for the Uefa Cup.
