My Dream Team: Lovers Mohlala

Lovers Mohlala selects his best eleven of players he featured alongside in the PSL and snubs a couple of ex-Mamelodi Sundowns teammates.

Mohlala, 43, was a South Africa international who is most famous for representing Sundowns and Wits University. In 2004 he had a stint with Aris Thessaloniki in Greece before coming back home to represent Jomo Cosmos, Silver Stars, Moroka Swallows, AmaZulu and Black Leopards.

View Mohlala's reasons for his selections, which includes coaches and a reserves bench dominated by ex-Chiefs and Pirates stars, in the pictures above!

"I must put myself in. How am I going to explain leaving myself out?" Mohlala laughs as he gives his Dream Team selections.

EXCLUSIVE: Motlohi: Why Mambush klapped me

"I think in South Africa people may not rate me but I will tell you, I'm the only player that played seven positions. I have played central defence, I played as a sweeper, I played as a left-back, I played as a left midfielder, I played as a central midfielder, I played as a striker... I think I played six positions."

Surprisingly, the newly-revealed cattle farmer leaves out legendary Cameroonian midfielder Roger Feutmba from his starting XI, who is usually a staple of any former Brazilians star from his era.

"Remember this is a Dream Team. I don't want to just to do things [select only Sundowns players] just because I played for Sundowns," he adds, before revealing a teaser about the legend that takes Feutmba's place in his team.

"He is the only player that used to cut his boots... brand new boots he would cut them with scissors to open a hole just so he can be able to pass. He would cut them just on the side. You know what, he was my coach growing up in the township..."

Mohlala also shares a special memory of former Downs teammate Joel Masilela, whom he jokes ended Edward Motale's Orlando Pirates career.

"If you want to know 'Fire' ask [Edward] Motale what was the reason he left Pirates. It was Fire. Do you remember when they were coached by [Viktor] Bondarenko?" Lovers recalls.

"The time Alex Tshakoane said to Bondarenko, 'Before you understand English the score will be 4-1.' And they beat Pirates 4-1. I think it was Iwisa Maize Meal [Charity Spectacular] if I remember it very well.

"Look at Fire when we played Rothmans Cup [against Kaizer Chiefs]. Fire was a magician. Even if you played him 10 minutes, he would change everything in that 10 minutes."
