Golden Arrows assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi believes it is high time the club break their nine-year trophy drought.
Arrows, who lifted the MTN8 in 2009, will start a fresh bid for silverware when they meet minnows Tjakstad JS in the Nedbank Cup last-32 at Kanyamazane Stadium on Saturday night (20h15).
"As a club, we haven't won any trophy for a while," Ncikazi said.
"The last time we won one was the MTN8. It is about time we deliver a cup."
Having said that, Ncikazi admits Arrows would have preferred to face a team they are familiar with in their first game in the competition.
"We are playing against a very tricky team. We don't know anything about them. It is hard to prepare for such games, but we have to honour the game and win the game."
He added: "We would've wished to play a PSL or NFD team so it can be easy for us to prepare."
Ncikazi is mindful the Absa Premiership side cannot afford to take their hosts lightly given the Nedbank Cup's reputation for delivering upsets.
"The history of the tournament shows no one is dominant. Anything can happen, hence we need to be well prepared for this game. The most challenging part is we don't know what to expect from them."
