Umoya has been a revelation since Isaacs took over the reins from Roger de Sa in December last year. The NFD-newbies were anchored in the drop zone and De Sa subsequently repositioned into management.
Isaacs’ Umoya-outfit only suffered one in loss in 12 games in all competitions and is now also competing for a place in the top half of the NFD table.
Cape Umoya will now be looking toake history in the Nedbank Cup. They take on TS Galaxy at Athlone Stadium tonight, looking to progress to the semi-finals.
“The players are aware that they are playing for their families, friends and livelihoods,” Isaacs told snl24.com/kickoff.
“So, that’s the pep-talk and motivation for them. Other than that it’s about hard work and what they put in on the day.
“I’ve told them that their destiny is in their own hands. They can be a part of something big with the club which is still very young. They can write their names in the history books and leave a legacy,” said the former Kaizer Chiefs and Ajax Cape Town defender.
Umoya has also pounced on their the luck of the draw with two home victories over the Tshwane University of Technology and Mbombela United before today’s encounter when they host Galaxy.
