Mosimane on Thursday addressed the media ahead of Sundowns’ opening cup clash, which is a Tshwane derby with SuperSport United on Saturday evening (20h15).
It is arguably one of the biggest fixtures of the round as two top sides will face off, and ‘Jingles’ jokingly complained about being pitted against a tough opponent, while “some teams” always seem to be drawn against lower division sides.
“I was wondering if Lux [September, PSL draw master] was doing that thing of feeling the hot and cold balls, or do they have the same temperatures [during the draw],” said Mosimane.
“But, I mean, how can we pull SuperSport United? There’s [ABC Motsepe League side] Hungry Lions, there’s everybody, or maybe even [a team from] the NFD [Glad Africa Championship].
“I never have an easy [draw], I know people who have easy draws every time, up to the final. Can I have the same luck as those people? I never have that luck, you [Lux] always give me something strong.
“But, anyway, let’s go with it. Hopefully we go through and then you can give me [fixture] relief because I’ve got [CAF Champions League] quarterfinals now, so give me a chance and maybe I can play someone else in the group.
“Let me breathe – it’s the [Absa Premiership] league, Champions League, so give me a breather and let me get somebody that I should not worry about.”
