Cosmos boss Jomo Sono confirmed that Nhleko had sealed a one-year deal with them this week and made a come-back in the club’s colours in Ezenkosi’s 1-1 draw against Supersport United last week in Pretoria.
Makaab tells snl24.com/kickoff that he is ‘surprised’ by the developments and that he would meet with the player to find out more.
“Nhleko is not allowed to sign for any team without our approval. If this is indeed true, then we at Prosport International will take the necessary steps because Nhleko has a contract with us,” Makaab added.
According to Fifa’s laws if a player signs for any team without his manager’s consent, he will be obliged to pay his agent a certain percentage of the deal struck, alternatively an amount claimed by his aggrieved representative.
Cosmos’ boss Sono said he did not want to be drawn into the issue, adding only that, “this is between Nhleko and Makaab.”
