Parreira selects full-strength squad

The announcement took place at Safa House in Johannesburg on Wednesday.

Parreira has included skipper Aaron Mokoena, who is expected to join the camp despite being taken off on a stretcher in Blackburn Rovers’ Carling Cup win over Portsmouth last month. However, the defender’s injury is not as serious as first thought and he may be fit to resume his partnership with Nasief Morris in the heart of defence.

Also included in the squad is Arminia Bielefeld midfielder Siyabonga Nkosi, who has just returned to training with the Bundesliga outfit after sustaining a knee injury, and must still be rated doubtful for the game against the USA.

And he will be joined by clubmate Sibusiso Zuma, who has been in great for Bafana over the last 12 months, but has missed the last four games through injury after being stretchered off against Scotland in August.

The overseas-based players will report for camp on November 13, while the local players will report for duty two days later after representing their clubs in the Absa Premier League in between.

A USA delegation is expected to arrive in the country tomorrow, with their squad arriving on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Parreira has also announced a second squad, which includes more local players, for their international friendly with Canada on November 21.
