Phiri has failed to command a regular place at Matsatsantsa since the arrival of Hunt, whom he played for at Moroka Swallows.
After spending a frustrating time on the sidelines this season, the former Bafana Bafana midfielder now wants to know if his services in the team are still needed.
Phiri, whose contract with the Tshwane based team is set to expire in June next year, has confirmed the meeting to snl24.com/kickoff.
“At my age, I don't enjoy sitting on the bench, I want to make a contribution to the team. My meeting with Hunt will determine if I stay with Supersport United or not.”
Meanwhile, Supersport United have completed the signing of Ajax Cape Town midfielder, Coburn Woodington on a 3-year contract.
Woodington spent some time training with Matsatsantsa in October where he impressed Hunt, who instructed the team's management to secure the services of the 21-year-old Johannesburg-born star.
