Aubameyang ending up with the Los Blancos at some point in his career seems almost a certainty after the player has repeatedly stated his desire to play for Real and the revelation that he had actually promised his late grandfather that he would turn out for them one day.
The striker finished last season as the top goalscorer in the Bundesliga with 25 goals, leaving the club's fans to fear they may no longer be able to hang on to their star man.
However, Real Madrid are well-stocked in the forward department and have already added Alvaro Morata to their ranks in the off-season. The rumours of a potential exit have also seemingly to fall away, and the player himself has now confirmed he is not going anywhere.
"The only club to leave Borussia Dortmund for is Real Madrid. But not now," he told Eurosport.
"Sometime I want to play for Real Madrid, which is one of my big goals in my career. But at the moment everything is great."
Dortmund have already sold several key players in the form of Mats Hummels, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Ilkay Gundogan, while making eight signings themselves, and club CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke stated over the weekend that they are unlikely to do any more transfer business in the current window.
