Pirates welcomed back defenders Ntsikelelo Nyauza, Abel Mabaso and Innocent Maela as their three changes from the 1-0 win over AmaZulu last Saturday.
The Buccaneers nearly secured a fifth minute lead with a sharp effort by Gabadinho Mhabngo, but Chippa shot-stopper Veli Mothwa tipped the attempt onto the post.
Chippa were on the back-foot four minutes later after Mhango fired the opener from the penalty spot following a foul on Maela by Gregory Damons.
The red-hot Mhango was not done as he collected a loose ball in the area to turn to fire past Mothwa to take his tally to 14 league goals for the season.
After quiet start, the Chilli Boys responded on 29 minutes after Augustine Kwem turned two defenders to beat Sandilands at the near post following good work from Silas Maziya.
Memela almost restored the Soweto giants' two-goal advantage following a quick counte-rattack, but shot straight at Mothwa before the break.
Chippa made a change right after halftime, with Ruzaigh Gamildien given a debut in his second stint with the club after signing earlier this week.
Within the space of two minutes, Gamildien fluffed two glorious chances to draw his side level with the Buccaneers caught out in defence.
The Sea Robbers should’ve restored their two-goal advantage towards the 60th minute, but Gerald Modisane headed Nyauza’s half-volley off the line.
Heroic goalkeeping from Mothwa denied Mhango a hat-trick from point-blank range a little later following a through ball from Thembinkosi Lorch, as the Buccaneers grabbed a fifth straight win.
