Highlands Park returned to winning ways after edging Bloemfontein Celtic 1-0 in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.

In a battle for eight spot, Highlands went for four changes in Ricardo Williams, Sello Motsepe, Sabelo Nyembe and Mothobi Mvala, while Celtic made only one change in Tshegofatso Mabasa.

Highlands looked for a bright opening, but the visitors held their nerve very well to keep the score-board level-pegging.
Celtic attempted an opening at the midway stage, but were let down by wayward finishing from Ndumiso Mabena among others.

Owen Da Gama’s man ended the half strong with a few half-chances from Peter Shalulile and the returning Mothobi Mvala.
Highlands made a positive start to the second half, but just like the first spell, were undone by wasteful finishing in front of goal.

Similarly, Celtic pushed bodies into the final third but thorough defending from the hosts kept the scores level.

Highlands were brought down to 10 men on 71 minutes after Mvala saw red for a second bookable incident.

Celtic fell behind on 86 minutes through a well-taken finish from Zimbabwean Tendai Ndoro to give Highlands a big win in the hunt for the top eight.
