Jamie Webber and Siyabonga Nhlapo returned to the starting eleven for SuperSport from the Telkom Knockout win over Baroka FC, while new signings Edwin Gyimah and Thobani Mncwango made their debuts for Leopards.

Matsatsantsa provided their first sight on goal 16 minutes gone, however Aubrey Modiba failed to bother Jonas Mendes who palmed off his looping free-kick.

A beautiful delivery from the left side from Onismor Bhasera after 33 minutes found Modiba, who applied a simple tap-in from a well-constructed move to put the home side ahead.

The visitors levelled four minutes to halftime when Chris Katjiuka nodded home from a corner into the danger area.

SuperSport fired on all fronts at the start of the second half, pinning Leopards into their own half with countless balls through to the final entry of the field.

Sipho Mbule took off his tracksuit from the dugout and ran out for Teboho Mokoena with 58 minutes gone, as Kaitano Tembo went on the front foot. The move bore fruits three minutes later as Mbule combined with Webber to set-up Thamsanqa Gabuza for an easy tap past Mendes.

Just as the first half, the visitors nearly replied but Lesedi Kapinga fired over the top amidst a starring Ronwen Williams in the opposite goal 67 minutes in.

Lidoda Duvha pushed for the equaliser towards the final minutes and were rewarded at the death when Pentjie Zulu fired home from the penalty spot following a foul in the area.

The hosts almost stole the winner seconds later, but had to settle for a share of the spoils in the end, missing the chance to go fourth.
