Cape Town City are the Cape’s new club after former Ajax chairman John Comitis bought Mpumalanga Black Aces’ PSL status. D’Avray, who was speaking at Ajax’s first press conference of the new season yesterday at Ikamva, spoke of the importance of watching PSL games live.

“Cape Town is big enough; it can facilitate two teams in the PSL. Rivalry is good. We won’t go into the politics but still I think that’s healthy. It’s one trip less [to Gauteng]. We can watch as many games as we want on television but there’s nothing like watching the game live,” D’Avray said.

“In the television, the camera follows the ball so you don’t get the bigger picture so with Cape Town City playing here we’ll be able to watch every PSL team that comes here and I think that’s healthy.”
