“OFFICIAL: Alex Song is now officially a Rubin player, after signing his contract today,” read a statement released by the club.

The 28-year-old spent six years at Arsenal before joining Barca in 2012, but fell out of favour at the Nou Camp, spending the last two seasons on loan at English outfit West Ham United where he made 40 appearances for the Hammers.

He joins Rubin as a free agent, with his contract with the La Liga giants terminated by the club.

Rubin finished tenth in the Russian top-flight last season, last winning the league title in 2009.
