AmaZulu general manager Lunga Sokhela says he does not regret giving Ayabulela Konqobe another chance at the club.
Usuthu gave Konqobe a chance to revive his career in December as he was struggling with off-field issues but earlier this month the club released him after for ill discipline after he missed training sessions.
Sokhela said the player let him down and he could not take him anymore.
"Konqobe let me down, I fought for him when some of my colleagues warned me about him. I believed in him but he decided to let me down again. I was really disappointed because I told him this might be his last chance in football," he said.
Sokhela was asked if there were any regrets giving him a chance and whether he will ever fight for another player like he did with Konqobe.
"I don't have any regrets, I will still fight for any talented player in our team. We will always support players and I hope Konqobe sorts out his life because he's very talented," he replied.
Sokhela also revealed they are willing to keep Siyabonga Nomvethe in a differen role at the club and are currently in talks with him about life after football.
"We are in discussions with Bhele. I can safely say we will keep him. For now it's about a role we will give him which will make him useful to us and also benefit him as a human being. He's a legend and for that we can't just let him go," Sokhela added.
