AmaZulu highlight home form ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns' visit to Durban

Usuthu will be hosting The Brazilians in what is expected to be an interesting affair at the King Zwelithini Staidum on Sunday, as the Absa Premiership takes centre stage following the conclusion of the first international break of the new season.

The recess will certainly have both teams raring to go, and Clark feels Durban’s supporters can expect a great game of entertaining football given the two clubs’ similar philosophies.

“We’re looking forward to it. We’re a team that likes to play football, and I think everybody knows that Sundowns is a team that likes to play football,” Clark told his club’s media team.

“Hopefully on Sunday there can be a good game of football for the fans, and hopefully we can give a good account of ourselves as well against the [former] champions of Africa.”

AmaZulu will be wary of Sundowns’ recent poor results, but Clark is adamant their home form this season is something for Pitso Mosimane and his charges to ponder over.

“It is a dangerous time [to face Sundowns], they’ve probably got the three best teams in the PSL in terms of squad depth, but it’s also a dangerous time to play us in one moment – we’re unbeaten at home, and we’d like to continue that record,” he added.

“We know they’re a dangerous team, and I think that’s the case no matter when we play them, so we’re prepared for the game. We’ve got to be respectful of them but we also have to put our own brand of football out in front of our home fans. Hopefully we come out on top on Sunday.”
