Usuthu sidelined Craig Rosslee last week by installing Wilfred Mugeyi as their caretaker coach following the side's poor start to the season.
The Durban outfit have yet to clarify Rosslee's fate, with the former Ajax Cape Town boss thought to still be under contract at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
AmaZulu have confirmed Muggeyi will continue to administer first team affairs, having supervised the 3-2 win over Bloemfontein Celtic in the Telkom Knockout just before the international break.
A statement on the club's official website reads as follows: "The club directors have not reach a decision regarding the position of the head coach.
"Until such a decision is made, the status quo will remain. Wilfred Mugeyi will remain as caretaker coach and carry out all the responsibilities of the head coach.
"The club will release a statement as soon as a decision is made on the matter. The directors are hoping to finalise this issue before the end of October 2014."
