The wife of Bafana Bafana legendary coach Clive Barker has issued the latest on her husband's sickness.
"The Dog" as Barker is popularly known in football circles, is said to be recovering after a serious illness that saw him being admitted to a Durban hospital.
Up to date, Barker remains the only coach to have won Bafana the AFCON.
He is also the first one to qualify South Africa for a FIFA World Cup.
According to his family, he recently underwent an operation to restore normal flow through his aorta, the main artery that carries blood from a heart to the rest of a person's body after suffering an aneurysm.
Barker is now undergoing rehabilitation in a step-down facility, and he is expected to return home as soon as he regains his strength.
He was previously housed at St Augustine's and Entabeni hospitals.
Barker oversaw Premier Soccer League club AmaZulu FC when they lifted the 1992 Coca-Cola Cup Final.
"No, he is not very strong at the moment, he is in rehab," His wife Yvonne tells KickOff.
"We are waiting, he is in Rehab, they just trying to get him a little bit stronger before he could come home.
"But he is quite weak still I must say.
"He had an operation and I think it took it out of him."
