AmaZulu head coach Romain Folz has urged midfielders Pule Ekstein and Thabo Qalinge to take their second chance at the club, having recently returned to training with the side’s senior team.

While it remains unclear why the duo were demoted to training with the club's reserve team, new club head coach Romain Folz, who took over the helm in October, has recalled the pair back to the senior team.

Both Qalinge and Ekstein were in first-team action for Usuthu during the side’s 2-0 loss to Royal AM and are in line to feature against Kaizer Chiefs on Friday.

Ahead of the crucial fixture, Folz has warned the pair to make use of the opportunity.

"I don’t know and I don’t what to know what happened before in that regard," the 31-year-old coach said.

"I arrived and I saw players who I believe are deserving of an opportunity and I give them the opportunity and if they grab it, good for them. If they don’t grab it, then it’s another story.

"I am someone who believes that you need to give equal opportunities to everyone. Since I’ve arrived, I have not seen anyone who I believe doesin’t deserve a chance. So same goes for everyone, If I give an opportunity to player A, then player B [also] deserves an opportunity."

Usuthu will lock horns with Kaizer Chiefs at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday evening.
