Bafana hopeful Lars Veldwijk linked with Brendan Rodgers' Glasgow Celtic

Veldwijk is back at English Championship side Nottingham Forest after a successful loan spell at Dutch Eredivisie side PEC Zwolle last season in which he scored 14 goals in 36 starts.

PEC had wanted him back but could not agree a fee with Forest and it now appears that Celtic have entered the race.

They may need him too after the side, now coached by ex-Liverpool boss Brendon Rodgers, slumped to a humiliating 1-0 defeat to Gibraltar part-timers Lincoln Red Imps in a UEFA Champions League qualifier on Tuesday.

He could also stay at Forest though as he seeks to impress their new coach, Frenchman Philippe Montanier.

Veldwijk qualifies for South Africa through his father, who was born in Mzansi.
