Baroka FC not ruling out Morgan Mammila return

Baroka FC chairman Khurishi Mphahlele would be open to having Morgan Mammila back at the club as CEO, but not this season.

Mammila resigned as Chippa United CEO on Tuesday, just hours before the Chilli Boys’ Absa Premiership match against defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Stadium.

He joined the club in January and immediately worked on bringing in a new coach, as Clinton Larsen replaced Joel Masutha at the helm. Things, however, did not go well for Mammila, who apparently did not see eye to eye with Larsen.

Before joining Chippa, Mammila was CEO at Baroka and was trusted by Mphahlele to run the club’s affairs. Since leaving, Bakgaga have not replaced him with anyone and it would come as no surprise if he were to return to the Limpopo outfit.

Mphahlele, however, made it clear that a return would not happen this season. Bakgaga are fighting relegation and the sole focus is making sure they avoid going down to the National First Division.

"The season is finished. We are left with only four games, but we are not ruling out anything concerning his comeback next season, We are not ruling out anything." Mphahlele tells snl24.com/kickoff.

Contacted for comment, Mammila said he was not in a rush to find a new club.

"No, I will be home for a week and I will start looking next season."
