Shaun Bartlett and Clinton Larson are both believed to have been shortlisted as possible candidates for the vacant head coach position at DStv Premiership side SuperSport United.

SuperSport is narrowing down its list of candidates as they look to hire a new head coach since the departure of Kaitano Tembo.

Matsatsantsa are currently under the tutelage of Andre Arendse on an interim basis who took charge of the club's last few remaining games of the 2021/2022 season.

As previously reported, SuperSport have already earmarked former Orlando Pirates assistant coach, Fadlu Davids as a leading candidate.

However, the club has compiled a strong list of candidates in a thorough process to identify the best applicant.

"Clinton Larson and Shaun Bartlett have been added to the list of candidates," a club insider reveals to KickOff.

"Andre Arendse also can still not be ruled out of contention for the job on a permanent basis.

"Fadlu Davids remains the favourite with the club earmarked to make an announcement next week sometime."

Meanwhile, Davids has also been strongly linked with a return to former side Maritzburg United after Ernst Middendorp was sacked on Wednesday.
