Ben Motshwari argues importance of Orlando Pirates vs Mamelodi Sundowns clash

The Premier Soccer League earlier this week announced the rescheduling of the fixture between Pirates and Sundowns, which was initially penned down for April 27, to April Fool’s Day.

The encounter was initially billed as a potential title decider given the proximity of the two sides in the championship race as well as the few games that would follow, while some still argue that it could have a direct impact on where the trophy ends up in May.

However, Motshwari begs to differ, insisting that the six games that would remain after their hosting of The Brazilians would still allow for recovery should things fail to go their way.

“I honestly feel like the game on Monday is not a title decider, because there are still games to play after that,” said Motshwari.

“And for us as Orlando Pirates, we’re not going into the match as if it’s a title decider, we’re just going there to collect three points.

“We’ll then turn our focus to the next match, and then the next match after the next match, so for us it’s not a title-decider.”

Kick-off at the Orlando Stadium on Monday has been set for 19h30.
