The Buccaneers entertain The Brazilians in a high-stakes Absa Premiership battle at the Orlando Stadium on Monday evening (19h30), as the race for the title hots up.
Currently in third position and three points off the summit of the table, Pirates potentially have more to lose should they fail to capitalise on this opportunity to gain ground on Sundowns, after which just six games remain.
With the Tshwane outfit having the advantage of frequently finding themselves in this situation, Bucs will have to be meticulous in their approach, says Motshwari.
“For me, personally, I think from the first whistle we just have to attack. That’s the only thing we have to do, and we can’t afford to concede early goals,” said the 28-year-old.
“Sundowns have a great tendency of scoring within the first 15 minutes of games, if you could check their games.
“They score early, and it then becomes difficult to chase them, so we need to try and penetrate them and score early.”
