Former Orlando Pirates striker Benni McCarthy has reached out to send a message to Kaizer Chiefs following their heartbreak in the Absa Premiership title race.
Chiefs surrendered the race to Mamelodi Sundowns on the final day of the season after leading the log standings for no less than 28 rounds of fixtures.

The Soweto giants looked certain to end their five-year wait for silverware as they ground out results to maintain top spot on the log, fending off notable challenges from Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United.
However, when all they required was victory on Saturday, Amakhosi were held to a 1-1 draw by relegation-threatened Baroka and ultimately allowed The Brazilians to clinch their record 10th title in the PSL era as well as a third successive championship.
McCarthy, though known as a former Pirates star, showed his support for the club as he posted a message on Chiefs' official instagram.

"Heartbreaking indeed, this really has been the most difficult year we [have] all been apart of. The pandemic outbreak has hit hard, losing the league [crying and heartbroken emoji]," said the Bafana Bafana legend.
"Dust yourself off and go again guys, Chiefs is too big of an institution to dwell on the past. Look forward to a better and brighter future. Will Rise Again. Love and Peace."
McCarthy has been without a coaching job since parting ways with Cape Town City in November last year, and his message has since sparked widespread speculation that he could be in the running to take over from Ernst Middendorp next season.
