The Clever Boys are currently second on the Absa Premiership table with 13 points from seven matches, while the Citizens are 10th with six points with only one win in six league games.

However, the Bafana Bafana international expects Benni McCarthy's side to come out strong in the Mother City.

"First, I would like to congratulate them for winning the MTN 8 final," Hlanti tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"Coming to our game against them I know it won't be easy. Because you go back to the past few games we played against them last season, they were very competitive in such a way that no one wanted to be beaten. So it's a bigger challenge for us going to Cape Town, it's their home game and it's our away game.

"We will play according to the plan the coach [Gavin Hunt] implemented in the gym. We are positive enough though that we can get something at the end of the game. No one expects a draw when the two teams clash.

"So far we are happy as you are saying that we started well. Okay we have two losses; we lost to SuperSport, we lost to Polokwane. We will not win all our games always. The most important thing is to take one game at a time.

"I'm positive that whatever happens, with the players that we have ... they know very well what is it that we need to do it collectively as a team. Our players must not settle for a loss, because the ones who have just joined us have their own reasons why they joined us. They have realised that we are a competing team, that's what we are here. We don't have that thing of calling ourselves a big team, but we are a competing team."

Kick-off  is at 19h30 at Cape Town Stadium.
