Bloemfontein Celtic fans put blame on management for violent protest at Dr Molemela Stadium

Bloemfontein Celtic fans have shifted the blame to the club management in the wake of the violence that erupted at the Dr Molemela Stadium in the Free State on Sunday.

Celtic fans forced the game between Siwelele and Cape Town City to be abandoned after 23 minutes after disgruntled supporters invaded the pitch.

The PSL has since charged Celtic with failure to provide adequate security and in the process bringing the League and sponsors into disrepute.

Siwelele national supporters chairperson Mabena Pule has since pointed fingers at the club management and says they are responsible for the incident.

"We are not promoting any form of violence but the management should shoulder the blame for the incident," Pule tells

"We have always encouraged the Celtic supporters to do the protest outside the stadium but the management goes all the way to offer fans complimentary tickets to allow them inside the stadium.

"This was their counter-strategy to disrupt our peaceful march that has been taking place in the past few games."

Meanwhile, Celtic are set to face the PSL DC in Johannesburg next week Friday.
