Following the club’s underwhelming 2015/16 season which was Tshabalala’s first as skipper, there have been whispers from sources inside the Amakhosi camp that Willard Katsande is being put forward to lead the team.
However, Motaung claims he doesn't know if such a decision has been made.
“I don’t know that. That’s news to me. I’m hearing it for the first time from you,” he tells snl24.com/kickoff.
Motaung adds that they are happy with the team they have assembled for the upcoming season.
“We are very, very happy. Very happy and confident and comfortable. The chairman, myself, the coach, everybody, we are quite content, that’s the future. This what we have and this is what we are confident with going to the league,” he concludes.
Tshabalala will miss Chiefs’ clash with arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label Cup as he is still making his way back from knee surgery.
