Orlando Pirates teenage star Boitumelo Radiopane is being tipped as Bafana Bafana's next big hope and possibly as the next Benni McCarthy.

McCarthy remains the country’s all-time top scorer with his 31 goals from 80 appearances in a career that took him to Spain, Holland, Portugal and England.

Pirates' rising sensation Boitumelo Radiopane, who turns 19 next month, finds himself being already compared to McCarthy.

"This boy is going to be a solution for South Africa," says Themba Dlamini, his development coach in Sebokeng, Vaal where the teenager hails from.

Dlamini praised the talent of Radiopane who started at the School of Excellence before landing a move to Pirates two years ago, in the September edition of KICK OFF magazine on sale now.

"This is what I also told the Iron Duke (Dr Irvin Khoza) when I presented the boy to him upon his signing by the club. The boy will give this country what it has needed for a while now, which is scoring goals. The boy is a goal poacher and the next Benni McCarthy that this country will have," proclaims Dlamini in the same interview.

Radiopane is already a junior international and was named the Prospect of the Season at the end of last term after also taking home DStv Diski Challenge Rewired Golden Boot.

Though he is yet to get minutes in the first team this season he was thrown into the mix in the Carling Black Label and is expected to play a role as the season moves on.

The profile on Radiopane in the KICK OFF magazine also touches on his journey through the School of Excellence where he is spoken of as having the potential to surpass Phakamani Mahlambi.
