Cavin Johnson has praised AmaZulu for their fighting spirit in getting three points against SuperSport United at King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday night.

Usuthu won 2-0 in a match they were desperate for maximum points, and after the game Johnson praised his players for what he called a brave performance.

"We must give credit to the players, we haven't done this in a while especially at home. This win is not for Johnson but for the boys who played well tonight," he said.

"This time of the season goals count and that's important for this club. I'm impressed by this victory, huge points for us, again credit to the players."

Johnson was asked if the win has brought a sigh of relief as they have been struggling to get positive results lately, which saw them flirting with relegation.

"As far as I'm concerned, I'm always under pressure," he added. "I put myself there to make sure I get the best out of these players. We must always give our best performances."

Usuthu's next game is against Baroka FC in Polokwane on Sunday (15h00).
