Chiefs will complete their seventh season without silverware, which now ranks as the longest wait for trophies that they have ever had to endure in their history stretching back to 1970.
The forward pair of Lazarous and Leonardo Castro is obviously leaving at the end of their contracts and biting their fingernails in uncertainty upfront is Samir Nurkovic and Bernard Parker.
Nurkovic and Parker will also be out of contract at the end of June.
Lebogang Manyama has battled with injury again this term and his deal runs up at the end of June though he has an option to extend.
Manyama hasn’t scored or assisted in 11 appearances this term.
Troubled winger Dumisani Zuma has a year remaining on his contract but being suspended twice by the club means the exit door is now wide open for him and will be made available to any club interested.
He has contributed little in the last 12 months.
Experienced defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele will have completed six years at the club in June when his contract expires.
The former youth international is sitting on the fence even though he has the option of another season on his contract.
There is uncertainty over Nigerian goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi who has dropped down the pecking order with Brandon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma now playing ahead of him.
Kearyn Baccus is out of contract at the end of June and based on his game time contribution he hasn’t done enough to earn a deal at Chiefs.
Kenyan international Teddy Akumu has a year remaining, but the club will be justified in transfer listing him if an agreement to terminate is not reached.
Mulomowandau Mathoho has a contract but has fallen out of favour since his schoolboy blunder and question hang over his head just like Daniel Cardoso.
Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya has five appearances since being transfer listed and still has another year on his deal but with right footers being played at left-back is he needed at Chiefs.
With the man who influenced Cole Alexander’s signing no longer the head coach, he is not guaranteed of his stay anymore.
