Chiefs 'slayer' Kambala to leave Baroka

accreditation

Kambala who joined in 2019 will always be remembered for the goal that denied Kaizer Chiefs a league title two seasons ago.

His contract officially ends next week, but Bakgakga chairman Khurishi Mphahlele hopes the player agrees to a new contract.

The Limpopo club will be playing GladAfrica Championship football next season following their relegation from the DStv Premiership.

According to sources, few Premiership clubs are talking to the player with the hope of keeping him in the top tier.

Speaking to KickOff, Mphahlele confirmed they were still keen to keep the player for at least another season as they look to bounce back to the big league.

"We have not parted ways yet," Mphahlele says.

"Kambala's contract is only coming to an end at the end of June.

"We are not there yet, we are still deciding and negotiating.

"He might still stay with us if everything goes well, remember before a new contract is signed negotiations must take place before any agreement is reached.

"At the moment we are still locked in negotiations."

Baroka has already parted ways with Bafana Bafana forward Evidence Makgopa whom they have sold to Orlando Pirates.
