Chippa United making right moves in KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape

The Chilli Boys are currently in KZN on a pre-season camp which will last for 10 days. The club will make its last stop in Johannesburg before heading back to Port Elizabeth ahead of the new season.

This past weekend, the club took part in a meet-and-greet session with fans, while they also donated kits to 10 local teams at Zimbane Village in Mthatha. The club’s communications manager Luthando Zibeko says the tournament is aimed at grooming the area’s future stars.

“20 local teams will partake in the Jongisizwe Memorial tournament which will be played annually in August. The player of the tournament will have an opportunity to join Chippa United,” Zibeko says.

“We hope the tournament will create sporting opportunities for the youth and contribute to the development of football in the OR Tambo region,” he concludes.
